The Flying Broom International Women’s Film Festival, established in 1998, is the first women’s film festival in Turkey. The festival aims to make women filmmakers’ productions visible, give voice to women’s stories, and spread the discourse of gender equality through cinema. Held annually in Ankara, the festival showcases short, feature, and documentary films by national and international women directors, and supports cinema discussions through events such as panels, talks, and workshops.
