23rd Flying Broom International Women’s Film Festival

The 23rd Flying Broom International Women’s Film Festival, Turkey’s first women’s film festival, met with cinema lovers in 2020 with a special format under the conditions brought by the COVID-19 pandemic. The festival, held completely online and free of charge between May 7-14, 2020 with the theme “We Stayed Home”, had the distinction of being Turkey’s first online women’s film festival. During this challenging period, the festival brought the unifying power of art and women’s solidarity to homes, presenting 76 films from 31 countries to audiences with “unlimited, ticketless, limitless” access. This special event organized by Flying Broom Foundation successfully continued its mission of making gender equality and women’s labor in cinema visible on the digital platform as well.
