“Hello, I am about to be forced into marriage. I am too young for marriage. The person I am to marry says he loves me, and my family says he will take good care of me. But I want to continue my education like my peers, I want to stand on my own feet and make my own decisions for my life. But I can’t speak up. You can tell from my face, my eyes, my behavior, and the changes in my habits that something is not right in my life. You might see me at school, in class, at the courthouse, at the hospital, on the street, and maybe even at my own wedding. With one decision, you can change my life. Be my voice, my eyes, my hands. You understand me best.” The Flying Broom Foundation and Sivil Düşün collaborated to screen videos and give presentations on combating early and forced marriages, particularly for university students studying in education, medicine, and law departments who are more likely to encounter victims of this situation in their professional lives.
