Workshop on Enhancing Cooperation with NGOs in Combating Early and Forced Marriages in Turkey

As of 2018, the Uçan Süpürge Foundation has allocated the most significant portion of its efforts to ensuring that NGOs are aware of provincial action plans and to expanding organization in all 81 provinces. The primary reason for this is our realization that communication between women’s organizations has weakened as a result of the mapping studies conducted.

The “Workshop on Enhancing Cooperation with NGOs in Combating Early and Forced Marriages in Turkey,” which arose from this need and was organized with the contributions of the British Embassy, included nearly 60 NGO representatives and activists who could play an active role in provincial action plans and have studies in this field. In addition to current activities, the “No to Child Brides” Platform, pioneered by the Uçan Süpürge Foundation in 2012, was taken as a basis when determining the list of invitees.
