Following the launch of Flying Broom’s website in 2000, another project aimed at using communication tools more effectively was the Women’s Organizations Database. Flying Broom, which had been collecting contact information of women’s organizations across Turkey since its establishment in 1996, transformed this into a larger database project using the methodology developed by sociologist and Flying Broom founder Prof. Dr. Yıldız Ecevit. The organization published a directory containing contact information and objectives of women’s organizations from nearly 50 provinces in Turkey, both in print and on their website. Thus, Turkey’s first women’s organizations database became accessible to relevant institutions through Flying Broom.
